API 5CT K55 casing pipe is similar to J55 in chemical composition and yield strength. API 5CT K55 is higher steel grade than J55, K55 has higher ultimate tensile strength, better mechanical and thermal fatigue resistance and crack resistance than J55 steel. For a thermal production well, API 5CT K55 casing pipe is appropriate instead of J55 casing pipe. Same as J55 casing pipe, there is also a green bar sprayed on API 5CT K55 casing pipe. The difference is that the coupling of J55 casing pipe has an extra white bar.
